A timetable for selecting a new superintendent for the Sturgeon Bay School District was discussed as part of a session Wednesday evening involving the board of education & consultants hired to conduct a superintendent search. The goal is for the board to settle on a top candidate by the Memorial Day weekend & have that individual on the job by July 1st. Representatives of School Exec Connect talked about their role in the process during the session after the school board meeting. The public will be invited to weigh in by completing a survey indicating what they’re looking for in the district’s top administrator. The survey will be available online. The search firm will review the surveys & solicit resumes from superintendent candidates, perhaps as many as fifty. That number will be whittled down to 16 & submitted to the board of education which will lower the number further to five to seven candidates. The number chosen will be interviewed by three committees made up of board-members, administrators, & staff & community members. Eventually, the top three candidates will be selected. Those individuals will be brought back for an all-day session that includes more interviews & other activities. The top candidate will then be chosen & an offer made.
