Three Alarm Fire in Casco Wednesday

A three alarm fire in the Town of Casco Wednesday had members of several area fire departments responding to the scene along with the American Red Cross. Firefighters from the Luxemburg Fire Department were called just after 2PM & initially fought the blaze on Crevice Lane in the Town of Casco, from inside the home, but moved their attack to the outside when the structure became unstable. The cold weather was a factor in the firefighting effort as well, causing some equipment failure. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, the home & its contents were completely destroyed. Members of the Casco, Algoma, Kewaunee, Southern Door, Brussels-Union-Gardner, & New Franken fire departments responded for mutual aid. The Denmark Fire Department stood by at the Luxemburg fire station in case of a second call & Luxemburg Rescue stood by in case of injury, none were reported. Firefighters were on the scene for over eight hours.
