Sustainability Grant for Door County Transportation

In 2006, the Door County Community Foundation supported the United Way of Door County as they began what became the county’s Transportation Resource Improvement Partners. This led to Door County’s current public transit services of Door 2 Door Rides, and Door County Connect. Through the Door County Growing Older Fund, the community foundation has followed up that support with a recent sustainability grant for $5,548.
Door County Transportation Manager Pam Busch says their service costs have increased in the last year with the cost per trip increasing by over $5. Their Department of Transportation grant is lower for 2025 than it was for 2024, and this grant arrived at a perfect time to help offset those financial strains.
