Sunshine Resources 50th Anniversary

Sunshine Resources of Sturgeon Bay, originally known as Sunshine House, was founded in 1971 by a handful of parents who wanted their children and other adults with special needs to be fully included in society. This year, the organization is celebrating its 50th anniversary as they continue to provide an inclusive and welcoming environment for clients at all levels of ability and their families. Sunshine Resources provides a broad array of services including personal care, day services, employment (both within the facility and in the community), education, transportation, business, and through “sunflower cottage”, a day program for the elderly and their loved ones. A recent addition is the sunshine resale store on Walnut Street, where they sell like-new items at affordable prices with all proceeds going to Sunshine Resources. For more information on volunteer opportunities or to make a donation, you can call Sunshine Resources at 920-743-7943. Congratulations to Sunshine Resources during this, their 50th year of service to the Door community. A representative from Sunshine Resources will also be our guest on the WDOR Talk Show on Monday March 1st.
