Sturgeon Bay Schools Set Facemask Policy

The Sturgeon Bay School Board held their regular meeting Wednesday evening, during which they approved the updated Covid-19 procedural guidelines. These updated procedures focus on students who don’t have covid symptoms so they can attend school in more situations. They would still be able to attend in person even if they need to monitor symptoms closely, obtain a negative PCR test, and/or wear a facemask for a certain number of days. Also, the Board approved a new tiered approach to facial coverings. Effective this Monday November 22nd, masking will be optional for all students and staff for grades 7 through 12. Then, for the students and staff of grades pre-K through 6th grade, they will not switch to optional masking until January 3rd. As usual, covid-related situations and procedures are subject to change in the weeks and months ahead.
