Sturgeon Bay School Board Developing Superintendent Profile

The process of finding a new superintendent for the Sturgeon Bay School District continued Wednesday evening with a work session involving the board of education. Board-members spent time developing a profile listing qualities they would like to see in prospective candidates. Current Superintendent Joe Stutting is leaving after eight years at the helm to take a similar position in his native state of Iowa. His first day on the job will be July 1st. The board of education is working with the firm of School Exec Connect to solicit resumes from a list of would-be superintendents. Ideally, 30 to 50 candidates would show interest in the job. The search firm is expected to whittle that number down to about 16 resumes which will be submitted to the school board. They, in turn, will lower the number to five to seven candidates. An interview process involving three committees is expected to lead to the top three candidates, &, from that list, the new superintendent will be selected.
