Sturgeon Bay Police Use-of-Force Policy Meets Standards

The Sturgeon Bay Police Department has recently announced their federal certification for the use of force. The Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group is an independent credentialing body recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice. They have effectively reviewed and scrutinized the department’s use-of-force policy and have found it to meet and comply with federal use of force standards. Through this certification, the Sturgeon Bay Police Department has met certain eligibility requirements for discretionary federal grants. They are now qualified to receive federal grants for the next three years.
