The first annual Sturgeon Bay Maritime Festival kicks off this week with the “Sail Through The Avenues Sidewalk Sale” on Thursday. The Door County Maritime Museum, Sturgeon Bay Visitor’s Center, City of Sturgeon Bay Coast Guard Committee, & Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club have brought together several different events together to create the festival. The festival continues on Saturday with a picnic for active & retired Coast Guard personnel & their families at Sunset Park in Sturgeon Bay. The Coast Guard person of the year will also be honored at the dinner. The Mariner Award Dinner Sunday at the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club is open to the public.
