
Door County’s first Kwik Trip gas station officially opened up on Sturgeon Bay’s east side last week Thursday, and the ribbon cutting ceremony was Wednesday morning. Approximately 50 people observed the event while a buzz of additional customers continued to flow in and out the doors. Kwik Trip President and CEO Don Zietlow gave a detailed history of the Wisconsin business and what makes it special. He also extended thanks to all the employees and to the City of Sturgeon Bay……….
The Sturgeon Bay Store Manager, Logan Byrne, moved to this location from a Depere store, and he introduced some of his local team members to the crowd. He also had many folks to thank before stating his goals with the Sturgeon Bay store………
Short speeches were given by State Representative Joel Kitchens and State Senator Andre Jacque commemorating this new addition to the area. A $1,000 donation check was then presented to representatives Ashley Shanock and Cameryn Ehlers-Kwaterski for the Otumba Park Playground Project. Ehlers-Kwaterski expressed excitement for the project and appreciation for the donation…………
A $1,000 donation was also presented to the Door County Sheriff’s Deputy K-9 program with K-9 “TJ” And his handler Deputy Spaulding there to accept the check. Finally, store manager Logan Byrne wielded the big scissors for the ribbon-cutting which was followed with much applause. The new Kwik Trip is now open 24 hours a day.
