Members of the Sturgeon Bay City Council & Mayor Thad Birmingham are doing their part to hold the line on budget increases. During one of the five sessions of a committee of the whole dedicated to the 2012 budget, the mayor & the city’s seven aldermen agreed to cut their annual salaries by ten percent. For council members affected, the cut will be $60 per month, effective in April. The mayor’s salary will drop by $85 per month, starting in April of 2013. The city council is expected to take action on the pay proposal during it’s meeting Tuesday. A three fourths vote is needed for passage.
