The City of Sturgeon Bay is grappling with the matter of making changes to the lane striping for bicycles & vehicles along Michigan Street from 1st Avenue to Highway 42/57. The changes could impact the widths of travel lanes, the amount of bike lanes, &, the amount of on-street parking. A public forum has been scheduled to gather input from property owners along Michigan Street & other interested parties. The city strongly encourages residents & others to attend the meeting on Tuesday, September 10th, from 4:30-6:30PM, at city hall. The format will be informal & citizens will have the opportunity to offer insights & concerns, coming & going as they please. City staff & the planning manager for the Wisconsin Bicycle Federation will be on hand to describe the alternatives & consider input from the public. Those who cannot attend the forum, but would like to offer comments, are invited to contact Community Development Director Marty Olejniczak at molejniczak@sturgeonbaywi.org…or by calling 746-6908…or City Engineer Tony Depies at tdepies@sturgeonbaywi.org …or by calling 746-2913.
