Wisconsin Public Service Corporation and Sturgeon Bay Utility crews have been kept busy most of the night and all day today cleaning up electrical outages in Door and Kewaunee Counties. Trees and branches on the lines, broken poles, lines down and blown fuses are what the power restoration crews are dealing with, from Green Bay North to Washington Island. Many areas lost power about 9:30 Thursday night and some were still dark as of mid afternoon Friday. Sturgeon Bay Utilities general manager Jim Stawicki told WDOR that he hopes everyone would have power on by Friday evening, but he was afraid it might not happen in some cases. Door County Emergency Management director Ann DeMeuse said that people who needed to go somewhere were invited to use the Sister Bay or Fish Creek Fire stations, the Liberty Grove Town Hall or the Door County Senior Center in Sturgeon Bay. The storm also knocked WDOR FM off the air, but WDOR AM 910 and the WDOR live stream remain on.
