On November 6th of 2018, Southern Door School District residents supported a $6,270,000 referendum to invest in the district facility with renovations and improvements in many areas of all schools and the district grounds. Now they are hosting a celebration to dedicate the completion of these projects, and they are inviting all community members to join in and see the new spaces. The ceremony will be held on Saturday September 19th at 9:00 am in the auditorium. You will have an opportunity to hear from district leaders and their construction partner, and you can witness how the renovated and new spaces have improved the student environment. Staff-guided tours will depart every 30 minutes from the auditorium from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon. All attendees are asked to wear a face mask and to follow physical distancing guidelines. If you are not comfortable attending but still wish to see the new spaces, there will be a walk-through video released on the district website and Facebook page after the dedication ceremony. Superintendent Patti Vickman comments, “We have worked to plan an event that celebrates the community’s investment in our schools in a healthy and safe way.”
