A graduate of Southern Door high school has been chosen as the school district’s next superintendent. School board president Dustin Miller announced that 47 year old Patti Vickman was selected as the new district administrator, effective January 1st. A contract is expected to be acted on next Tuesday when the board of education meets in regular session. Patti Vickman has held a variety of administrative positions in the Oshkosh school district since 1985. Prior to her administrative career, she was a reading & elementary teacher in Oshkosh, Luxemburg-Casco & Green Bay school districts. Miller said Vickman’s varied educational experiences will be an asset as she assumes her leadership role at Southern Door & as the district strives to meet the educational needs of its students. He noted that because the search for a new superintendent was handled in a timely manner, Vickman can complete a smooth transition as current superintendent Joe Innis retires at the end of December following a 22 year tenure as Southern Door’s district administrator.
