Northern Door County businessman Dick Skare will run as a Democrat in the fall election for state senate. The 64-year old resident of Fish Creek has been down the campaign trail before, having had an unsuccessful attempt at unseating State Representative Garey Bies. Skare, his wife, Carol, & daughters, Courtney & Karin, are involved in the operation of the popular Cookery Restaurant in Fish Creek. As the younger members of the family get more involved in running the business, Skare is again looking to invest time in public service. Despite a very busy schedule, his resume includes time on the Gibraltar Town Board, active participation in important government & community committees, the Door County tourism zone, & non-profits such as the YMCA & the Door Community Auditorium.
