Shortly after 4:00 Monday morning a security alarm was triggered at the Hometown Pharmacy in Sister Bay. When the Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on the scene, the suspect was attempting to leave the store with a large bag. He was taken into custody without further incident. Further investigation of the scene revealed that the suspect allegedly broke the glass of the front door to gain entry. He had in his possession a cash box with a small amount of cash, a ball-peen hammer, a box cutter, and over 150 bulk prescription medication boxes and bottles. The suspect’s vehicle was later found near the scene and was towed to the Justice Center. After obtaining a search warrant, investigators followed up at his Liberty Grove home. They will be bringing up additional charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia to the District Attorney’s Office. This investigation remains ongoing with additional charges expected to be referred in the near future. The suspect currently remains in the Door County Jail pending a $5,000 cash bond.
