The latest word out of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation office in Green Bay is that the Highway 42 resurfacing project, from Gibraltar Road in the Town of Gibraltar to Country Walk Drive in Sister Bay, will get underway in late May. The DOT says it hopes to get the job done sometime in October and will call off work in July and August due to the peak tourism season. During the project, traffic will be allowed under flagging operations. Once completed, the 6.5 mile stretch of Highway 42 will have been upgraded to include a new asphalt surface, storm sewer repairs, culvert replacements, beam guard replacement, and pavement marking.
