You can add Steve Cromell’s name to the list of Door County superintendents who have announced their decision to retire at the end of the current school year. The 62 year old district administrator at Sevastopol noted in the fall issue of the Pioneer Times that nothing official had been done, but his retirement will happen next year. Cromell, who has worked for the school in Institute since July of 2007, said the board of education is taking an in depth look at future administrative options & will make those decisions in the late spring. He said his 39 year career in education, which recently included stops at Mishicot & Munising, Michigan, comes to an end after having worked for a school district that has a great staff, terrific kids & a community that values its kids. Cromell called his five years at Sevastopol truly the most enjoyable of many successful experiences with schools.
