SDFD Extinguishes Unattended Burning in Clay Banks

There was a fire call Monday afternoon for what appeared to be unattended barrels burning in the Town of Clay Banks. The call came in shortly after 4:15PM from an area along Lower Lasalle Road for a vacant lot containing multiple barrels on fire. The Southern Door Fire Department sent one firetruck with five firefighters to the scene, and they used approximately 150 gallons of water to extinguish the illegal burning. Fire Chief Olson says that as of Tuesday morning, the sheriff’s office was still trying to locate the property owner…

There were no injuries in the response, and all units were able to clear the scene in just over 30 minutes.
