School Bus Accident in Union

Monday afternoon there was a collision in the Town of Union involving a school bus and an SUV. It was at 4:00 pm when a Southern Door School bus driven by a 67 year-old Brussels man was northbound on Pit Road and stopped at the stop sign for County Road “DK”. He says he did not see any traffic coming on County “DK”and proceeded into the intersection. At that time a Buick Enclave was westbound on County “DK”, driven by a 78 year-old Green Bay man. His Enclave struck the front passenger side wheel area of the school bus. The bus driver and the 8 student passengers on board had no apparent injury. The driver of the SUV had suspected minor injury while his 77 year-old female passenger had suspected serious injury. They both received EMS ground transport to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. The bus driver was given a citation for failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign.
