SBPD to Step up Cross Walk Enforcement

In response to reports that some motorists are not yielding to pedestrians in crosswalks in the city, the Sturgeon Bay Police Department is stepping up enforcement in that area. Drivers who disregard pedestrians will be stopped & given a warning. Multiple violations will lead to citations for the violation. A first offense for failing to yield to a pedestrian is $150.10. If you’re cited for passing a stopped vehicle on the right while a pedestrian is crossing the street the fine is more than double that amount.
