SBPD Investigate Attempted Break In

The Sturgeon Bay Police Department is investigating the report of an attempted break in to a home on Quincy Street Tuesday morning. A woman told officers that she awoke after hearing someone pounding on the front door. When she looked out the window, she saw a man in his 50’s, balding with grey hair, wearing a yellow t-shirt & black shorts. The man continued to pound & kick at the door, causing damage. Unable to call 911, the woman locked herself in the bathroom, fearing the man would somehow get inside her home. A short time later, the pounding stopped & she was able to contact authorities. Police canvased the area, but didn’t find anyone matching the description of the suspect. While city police believe this is an isolated incident, they are asking anyone who may have seen someone matching the description of the suspect to call the police department at (920)-746-2450. Those wishing to remain anonymous can use the department’s confidential tip form at www.sturgeonbaypolice.com/webtip.html or click on “Give a Tip” on the Sturgeon Bay Police Department’s facebook page.
