Members of the Sturgeon Bay Police Department invested a significant amount of additional time in traffic enforcement related to the three month renovation project on the Bayview Bridge. Captain Dan Brinkman says statistics compiled by Sergeant Chad Hougaard reflect the impact of the shut down. Captain Brinkman says time was also spent helping motorists who ignored signs on the highway & drove to the bridge, only to find it closed. Captain Brinkman says the good news is that motorists adjusted to the bridge closure, major problems were few & far between & a similar project on the bypass bridge will probably not be necessary for decades.
