The Sturgeon Bay Police Department has released more information on the arrest of three individuals from Brown County implicated in shoplifting incidents last week. A 40-year old De Pere woman & a 44-year old Green Bay man were cited for felony theft & bail jumping & a 24-year old Green Bay man was taken into custody for felony theft. On December 5th, the department was dispatched to the Walmart store after the store’s loss prevention staff observed individuals who were believed to have been involved in thefts previously. City police were contacted & given a description of the auto & its occupants. They located the vehicle on Egg Harbor Road. The suspects tried to elude officers by driving into John Miles County Park where they initially attempted to flee on foot. However, they returned to the car which was pulled over by officers who conducted a high risk traffic stop. After the suspects were taken into custody, edged weapons were found in their vehicle. They reportedly admitted that they had been involved in multiple thefts in Brown & Door County. The Sturgeon Bay Police Department noted that the retail theft investigation is ongoing & more charges could be issued.
