A two vehicle crash southwest of the Village of Luxemburg, in the Town of Luxemburg, has claimed the life of a 20 year old Kewaunee woman. It happened Saturday shortly before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Rendezvous Road and Church Road. 20 year old Tiffany Drouse of Kewaunee died at the scene, her passenger 21 year old Kasandra Roberts was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Aurora Hospital with incapacitating injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, 36 year old Nicholas Dubois of Luxemburg was not injured.
The initial investigation determined that a Ford pickup towing farm wagons, driven by Dubois, was northbound on Rendezvous Road, stopped at the stop sign and then began to pull away when he observed an eastbound vehicle approaching at a high rate of speed. The vehicle, driven by Drouse, struck the pickup in the rear part of the truck dislodging the wagons, after hitting the truck the car went into the north ditch, rolled over, coming to rest back on the wheels.
Alcohol and excessive speed are believed to be factors in the crash. The Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department in the investigation. Further information will be available after the investigation is completed.
