Rock Island Totally Closed to the Public

Last week we reported that Rock Island State Park had closed for the remainder of 2020 due to accessibility limitations and concerns related to COVID-19. All camping reservations have been canceled and reservation holders are to be provided a full refund. The Friends of Rock Island State Park have also canceled all boathouse and lighthouse tours as well. In a most recent update, the Wisconsin DNR now announced that the public will not be permitted to dock on or use the island for for any personal use. Island staff and conservation wardens will be monitoring the park for the remainder of the season. Anyone who attempts to access the island may be subject to citations.
