A three-week project on Highway 42/57 in Sturgeon Bay is scheduled to begin Monday. The work involves the construction of temporary road connections between Highway 42/57 and old Highway Road and between Egg Harbor Road and Old Highway Road. These connections will handle detour traffic during the reconstruction of Highway 42/57, between Michigan Street and Egg Harbor Road, and the Bayview Bridge project, both scheduled to start in the spring of 2016. The DOT says the highway will remain open during the project with intermittent flagging operations. Motorists are reminded to use caution and remain alert when driving through this or any other work zone. The $145,000 road project is expected to be completed by the end of October.
