The Door County chapter of Wisconsin Right To Life has awarded 3 scholarships to county seniors. The Scholarships are based on submitted essays, letters of recommendation and areas of volunteer work.
First place, a $500 scholarship, was awarded to Josie Shabitt of Gibraltar High School for her essay entitled “The Right To Life”.
Two additional $250 scholarships were awarded to Katherine Lewis of Sturgeon Bay High School for her essay “Abortion Alternatives” and to Austin Daoust, the salutatorian at Southern Door for his essay “What Does It Mean To Be Human”.
Scholarships are funded by donations and the rose sale held in area churches on Mothers Day.
