Leaders at the Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor are currently formulating a 20-year master plan that will include the potential for expanded preservation and growth now that the organization is under contract to purchase the nearby Ridges Inn and Suites property later in June. The acquisition of this property is viewed as a once in a lifetime opportunity for the sanctuary. Executive Director Andy Gill explains here what makes this property unique and of great value to the organization……..
This 2-acre piece of property contains unique ridges and swales bisected by the brook, limestone oak fern, and habitat for native orchids. The added bonus is that the property contains more that will undoubtedly benefit the organization’s future programming and events………That master planning process will feature public engagement opportunities over the summer. To keep up with these opportunities, you can monitor the “20 year masterplan” tab at the top of the Ridges’ website at “ridgessanctuary.org”. There you will find online surveys and plan updates, and you can also express your thoughts at their open house event in early August.
