The Peninsula Players Theatre was recognized for the long-standing quality of its work at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Lake Geneva this week. Governor Scott Walker handed out the award, one of five presented, at the event’s closing dinner on Tuesday evening. The theatrical venue near Fish Creek was given the Arts, Culture & Heritage Award for, among other things, enhancing the tourism experience & the economic well-being of a community. The oldest resident theater company in America has been providing excellence in entertainment at its “Theatre in a Garden” since the mid-1930’s.
