Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy near Kewaunee will get just over sixteen thousand dollars as part of the bioenergy program for advanced biofuels, from the USDA. The local farm is one of more than 18 energy producers in Wisconsin to receive payment to support & ensure the production & expansion of advanced biofuels. Pagel’s Ponderosa uses an anaerobic digester system that converts enough manure each day to supply electricity for Pagel’s Ponderosa, as well as all of Kewaunee & Casco. The dairy’s cows have produced more than 4.2 million kilowat hours of electricity!
