One Dead After Early Morning Fire in Nasewaupee

There is one confirmed fatality from an early morning house fire in the Town of Nasewaupee Wednesday. At approximately 2:30 Wednesday morning the Nasewaupee Fire Department was called to the home on County Road M, about one mile north of Hainesville Road. A MABAS call went out for mutual aid from the fire departments of Southern Door, Brussels-Union-Gardner, Sturgeon Bay, and Algoma. Fire Chief Jacob Schartner reports there was smoke and flames visible in the home upon their arrival at the single family residence. One occupant was able to vacate the residence, but a second individual was located inside & later pronounced dead. That person has been identified as 27 year old Lance N. LeCloux. Fire crews had the fire completely extinguished by 4:50AM. State fire investigators arrived to the site at 8:30 Wednesday morning and they are currently conducting their investigation.
