The Nicolet Bank will be permanently closing three of their Door County branches in the next 120 days. Bank president and C.E.O. Mike Daniels has informed us that the Ellison Bay, Fish Creek, and Brussels branches were temporarily closed in mid-April to safeguard their employees from COVID-19. During this time they noticed mobile and virtual banking increase as well as customers visiting other branches. These and other factors have lead to their decision to close all three branches. Daniels would like to remind us of all the help they have brought to the Door County community during the last 90 days. They have helped process 681 applications for almost $70 million in loans affecting local businesses with over 9,000 employees. They have also created a grant program for smaller businesses rather than having them apply for PPP Loans. Essentially, they gave away almost $500,000 to 125 businesses. These grants were all donation with no payback of any kind. Daniels closes by saying Nicolet Bank will continue to give donations and sponsorships to the Door County community.
