It was a great morning for a groundbreaking ceremony and a large crowd turned out for the traditional turning of the soil under sunny skies at the site of the new downtown branch of Nicolet National Bank in Sturgeon Bay. The ceremony also included the beginning of the demolition of the facility across the street from the current bank building. The new Nicolet National Bank branch in downtown Sturgeon Bay is expected to be operational by the summer of 2019.

Also speaking was Jamie Alberts, Senior Vice-President for Commercial Banking. At the end of the groundbreaking ceremony, bank staffers took turns using the bucket of a small crane to demolish one wall of the building that had at one time been a bowling alley.
