New SBPD Officer

The Sturgeon Bay Police Department has announced that officer Michelle Wiegand has been added to the department’s rank & file. The 30 year old Southern Door County native was selected from a field of 150 applicants. She has already started a rigorous 16 week field training program & looks forward to getting out on her own. Prior to becoming a Sturgeon Bay Police Officer, Wiegand worked as a Community Service Officer. She is the fifth local CSO who has successfully made the transition to a law enforcement agency. Three of the five have worked for the Sturgeon Bay Police Department, one has been accepted by the State Patrol & another is now working as a corrections officer for Brown County.
