Groundbreaking for the 33rd Habitat for Humanity home in Door County is set for 4PM Wednesday afternoon, & the local chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is actively involved in seeing to it that construction of the home becomes a reality. Glen & Grace Rossman will join other Thrivent members, Habitat representatives, the new family & volunteers at the construction site at 229 East Leeward Street in Sturgeon Bay for the traditional turning of soil marking the beginning of the building project. Thrivent contributed 55% of the house costs, a total of $49,500, to the project. The family will complete 200 hours of sweat equity helping to build the house & will repay the no profit mortgage over a period of years, illustrating Habitat for Humanity’s objective to give families a hand up, not a hand out.
