Motorcycle Trailer Burns in Nasewaupee Thursday

An emergency call came in for a trailer on fire Thursday afternoon from an employee at Sahs Auto on County Road S, just south of Sturgeon Bay. A customer’s trailer on the property was filled with off-road motorcycle equipment and there was a solar panel on top. Southern Door Fire Chief Rich Olson tells us what this had to do with the fire….

The Sturgeon Bay Fire Department assisted with the response. The departments of Brussels-Union-Gardner and Algoma were also called, but then canceled prior to their arrival. Southern Door sent 7 trucks and 20 firefighters to the scene. Fire Chief Olson explains their approach to extinguishing the fire….

They were able to extinguish the fire using approximately 2,500 gallons of water. The trailer and its contents were a total loss. The entire response took about one hour, and there were no injuries.
