WDOR news has been following a two county investigation into drug trafficking in the area. Earlier this week, we reported on the arrest of five people in Sturgeon Bay, but, based on information supplied by the Door Kewaunee Drug Task Force, the six month investigation is much more extensive. In all, 18 individuals were arrested & five others are being sought on charges that include delivery of marijuana, schedule one & two narcotics & one, two & three non-narcotics & a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver of a hazardous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, & maintaining a drug house. The vast majority of the alleged crimes are felonies. Besides the individuals arrested in Sturgeon Bay, several other suspects taken into custody had Algoma addresses. A Two Rivers man & a woman from Milwaukee were also on the list of nearly two dozen individuals & a sturgeon bay woman was taken into custody on a probation hold. The subjects range in age from 19 to 69. Participating in the operation were members of the Door Kewaunee Drug Task Force with assistance from the Door & Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Departments, Sturgeon Bay & Algoma Police, & the Wisconsin State Patrol.
