The deadline for young women and girls to sign up for the Miss Door County, Miss Door County Outstanding Teen and the Princess Pageant has been extended to Saturday, October 5th. Women between the ages of 17 and 24 will compete for the title Miss Door County 2014 on February 1st at the Southern Door Auditorium. The winner will compete to become Miss Wisconsin. In addition, $11,000 in scholarships were handed out last year. The current Miss Door County is Samantha Cole.
The outstanding teen competition is for young women between the ages of 13 and 17 and not a senior in high school. The winner will represent Door County at the Miss Wisconsin Teen Pageant in Oshkosh. Abbigayle Grosbeier is the current Miss Door County Outstanding Teen. The competition for her replacement will be held in conjunction with the Miss Door County Pageant.
Girls between the ages of 5 and 8 can once again participate in the Miss Door County Princess program. The Princess program is a mentoring opportunity with the Miss Door County contestants. Entry forms for Miss Door County, Miss Door County Outstanding Teen and the Princess program are available at Concepts Bridal and Formalwear downtown or at the Cut Hut at 28 West Oak Street in Sturgeon Bay.
