A Gibraltar High School senior has added the title Miss Door County to her list of accomplishments. Zephyr Ciesar, winner of last year’s “Door County Idol” competition, was crowned the 16th Miss Door County at the Southern Door Community Auditorium Saturday evening. She is the daughter of Karen Ciesar and Rob Morrow of Sturgeon Bay. Ciesar combined a powerful musical performance with a platform calling for an end to bullying in schools to take the top spot in the field of 9 young women. Ciesar was crowned by outgoing Miss Door County Emily Larsen and will compete in the 2012 Miss Wisconsin Pageant in Oshkosh in June.
Samantha Cole, the daughter of Jerald and Holly Cole of Sturgeon Bay, was First Runner-Up. Her sister, Holly, finished in 3rd Place. Both attend college in the UW system. Susan Fochs, a senior at Gibraltar was Second Runner-Up. She is the daughter of Donald and Barbara Fochs of Egg Harbor. The title “Miss Congenialtiy”, along with scholararships for best non-finalist interview and talent, went to Madeline Winkel, daughter of Mark and Joan Winkel of Forestville.
Also Saturday night, the crowning of Miss Door County Outstanding Teen 2012, Lena MacDonald, a student at Gibraltar High School. She is the daughter of Ron and Lisa MacDonald of Sister Bay.
