A cooperative effort involving state & local law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of a 34-year old Rapid River, Michigan man in connection with a break-in last week. The Sturgeon Bay Police Department was contacted about a burglary at the Holiday Music Motel at 29 North 2nd Avenue. Officers were told that cash had been stolen & the suspect was in the process of taking other items when he was confronted by an attendant. After checking surveillance video from the motel & downtown businesses, officers began to canvass the area. A short time later, a state patrol trooper saw a man walking along the highway near Dyckesville who fit the description of the suspect in the Sturgeon Bay burglary. He contacted city police & an arrest was made. The man was transported back to Sturgeon Bay where, under questioning, he admitted burglarizing the motel & was jailed. The stolen cash was recovered. The Michigan man faces charges of burglary & possession of marijuana & drug paraphernalia.
