A forum for candidates running for two seats on the Sturgeon Bay Common Council has been scheduled for Monday, February 6th. The event, sponsored by the League Of Women Voters of Door County, will be held at 7pm on that day in the city council chambers at city hall. It’s an opportunity to hear from each candidate about their objectives, experience and plans for the city of Sturgeon Bay.
Three individuals will seek votes in the February 21st primary election in District 2. They are incumbent Ron Vandertie, Alderman John Lodl and challenger Cindy Weber. The top two vote-getters will move on to the spring election.
In District 4, where incumbent James Abeyta has decided not to run for another 2-year term, the challengers are Ken Fisher and Richard Wiesner. They will contest the seat in the election in April.
Following the League Of Women Voters format, the candidates will be asked questions submitted by audience members. Time will also be set aside to meet with ans speak to each of them following the forum.
