A 33-year old Brown County man, accused of setting up a small methamphetamine lab in his motel room in Sturgeon Bay, made an initial appearance in Door County Circuit Court Monday morning. Benjamin La Londe of Green Bay was told to return to court for a preliminary hearing within 10 days. His bail was reduced from $3500 to $2000.
La londe was charged with three felony counts related to the manufacture and possession of methamphetamine and possession of “meth” paraphernalia. He was also charged with a misdemeanor count of drug paraphernalia possession. La Londe was arrested while on the job in Sturgeon Bay February 6th after officers found chemicals and paraphernalia in a second floor room he was renting at the Best Western Maritime Inn on the west side of the city. A hazardous materials team from Chicago had to be called in to remove the meth lab from the room. La Londe remains in the Door County Jail.
