Charges related to a series of burglaries in Door County were dismissed in Door County Circuit Court Wednesday, but a 35-year old Brown County man remains in jail awaiting his next day in court. Attorney Eric Maciolek, representing Dakota Lone Eagle King of Oneida, asked Judge Peter Diltz to dismiss the charges because of what he called a defective complaint. The judge granted the motion, then gave prosecutors 48 hours to refile the charges. King was sent back to the Door County jail where he remains under $5,000 bail. His preliminary hearing was re-set for Wednesday, March 12th at 10AM. King is accused of being involved in break-ins to buildings in a four-county area, including southern Door County. He was arrested in Waupaca County in February after burglarizing a shed on the property of a Wisconsin State Trooper. A number of items related to the burglaries have been recovered.
