There was an ice rescue just offshore from Potawatomi State Park Sunday night in Sawyer Harbor. Just before 6:30 pm, the emergency call came in for 2 ice anglers who broke through the ice with their UTV . Southern Door Fire Chief Rich Olson shares with us more on what happened and the response……
Fire Chief Olson reports the man and woman were actually in the water for several minutes before being pulled from the water by other fishermen. The response operation was based from the Potawatomi Park boat launch area and lasted about 45 minutes. Fire Chief Olson says the rescue went very well. There was good cooperation and coordination with all agencies involved.
