A child playing with a lighter in an attic area is the suspected cause of a house fire at 542 Iowa Street in Sturgeon Bay. The fire call came in at 10:30AM Monday & 8 units & 23 firefighters responded. Dietman says the second floor of the home sustained significant damage from the fire & the fact that walls & ceilings had to be pulled down during the firefighting operation. There was also heavy water damage on the first floor. Assistant Chief Dietman says two ambulances were on hand with additional personnel, the Sturgeon Bay Police Department responded & the American Red Cross helped the occupants of the home. Fire crews checked out at 2:08PM.
