Gravel Alleys to Remain Unpaved in Sturgeon Bay

It may be a long time before any gravel alleys in Sturgeon Bay are paved. The city’s board of public works Tuesday evening discussed the possibility of paving projects on eleven unpaved alleys throughout the city, but decided to back off for the time being. Municipal services superintendent Bob Bordeau was asked to provide information on the alleys involved & include cost estimates. Bordeau noted that the cost of paving alone would be close to $49,000 for the affected alleys & provided a list of possible positives & negatives, related to the work. The mayor’s motion was amended to include the requirement that the information gathered be made available to the council at budget time.
