Goose Causes Power Outage in Sturgeon Bay

If you live or work on the west side of Sturgeon Bay and you lost electrical service at about 8:30 Wednesday evening, you can blame the power outage on a wayward goose. The large electrical disruption affected close to 800 customers of Sturgeon Bay Utilities including many businesses along Highway 42/57 and Madison Avenue. Utilities Electric Supervisor Jason Bieri says the goose flew into powerlines in the alley behind the Cellcom building on east Maple Street and Neenah Avenue. Bieri says it took about an hour to find the problem and restore power for all those affected.
