Friends of Peninsula Park Working Towards New Playground

Because of deterioration from many years of use, the old playground equipment at Peninsula State Park’s Nicolet Beach was removed. Now, the “Friends of Peninsula State Park” are raising funds to help purchase some newer modern equipment to replace the old, and they have set their fundraising goal at $80,000. The group’s business manager Steve Strucely tells us some of the new modern features they plan to include in this new equipment…..

Another aspect of the new equipment is to have it be more inclusive to children of all abilities……..

Strucely says in their early fundraising they will direct their efforts towards the campers in the Nicolet Beach campground since their children would be using the equipment quite often, and they also plan on putting a donation kiosk at the playground site to help raise funds. Then they also have plans for some fundraising events in the future. Their monetary goal is $80,000, but strucely says they also have a time goal they are hoping to be done by…….

If you would like to help them now with this fundraising effort, you can do so through their website, “peninsulafriends.org”. You can also keep an eye on the group’s Facebook page for updates on their fundraising progress.
