Friday Morning Housefire in Forestville

There was a house fire in the Village of Forestville Friday morning. That started sometime before 8:30 AM at 227 Lucerne Drive, between Hucek Avenue and Main Street. Southern Door Fire Chief Rich Olson reports his department responded with help from the fire departments of Sturgeon Bay, Brussels-Union-Gardner, Algoma, and Luxemburg, along with the Door County Sheriff’s Office and Door County EMS. Fire Chief Olson describes how they extinguished the fire and the damage it caused………

They used approximately 6,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. There was one boy home at the time of the fire and he is unharmed, but Fire Chief Olson explains the emergency call made and some sad losses in the fire……………

Aside from the family pets, there were no other injuries reported. All vehicles were able to clear the scene in 2 ½ hours. The cause of the fire remains undetermined, but Fire Chief Olson mentioned the possibility that an electronic appliance in the basement may have been the cause.
